Rooted Uprising Collective
We aim to engage, elevate, and empower a regenerative community that builds a regenerative world.
About
Rooted Uprising is a BIPOC-led social and environmental justice collective that engages, elevates, and empowers communities to take action towards a regenerative world.
We are a US-based community made up of individuals spanning across North America that connected through a virtual platform after taking a course on environmental justice. After continued conversations on the need to stay connected and form a virtual community due to the pandemic, we officially launched in March 2021. We use our lived and professional experiences to advocate for climate justice for current and future generations.
We highlight and uplift marginalized voices who have been stewarding the land, water, air, and biosphere for generations. Our work focuses on storytelling, virtual events such as film screenings, book clubs, and educational workshops that highlight BIPOC work in the environmental justice movement. Our vision is to create collective spaces for conversations and actions, recognizing the power of individuals acting together to address climate and justice issues.
